The South Wake Sabres will face off against the Coastal HomeSchool Hurricanes at 9:30 p.m. on Monday. South Wake is coming into the contest hot, having won their last six games.
South Wake is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Saturday. They snuck past South Guilford HomeSchool with a 38-32 win. Given the Sabres' advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 31st, while the Cougars are ranked 95th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Rebekah Hartzell was her usual excellent self, shooting 50% from the field en route to 22 points in addition to seven boards and four steals. The game was her third in a row with at least 22 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Emma Crissman, who posted nine points and five rebounds.
South Wake smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in seven consecutive matches.
Meanwhile, Coastal HomeSchool was able to grind out a solid victory over Brunswick Christian Academy two weeks ago, taking the game 48-36. The win continues a trend for the Hurricanes in their matchups with the Eagles: they've now won three in a row.
South Wake better keep an eye on Annabel Sanchez. She was instrumental in Coastal HomeSchool's win, putting up ten points and four steals. Sanchez is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in each of the last five games she's played. Another player making a difference was Abbie Litchfield, who earned eight points.
Coastal HomeSchool pushed their record up to 11-18 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. As for South Wake, their win bumped their record up to 30-2.
This contest is shaping up to be a blowout: South Wake hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having averaged 62 points per game. It's a different story for Coastal HomeSchool, though, as they've been averaging only 34.2 points. The only thing between South Wake and another offensive beatdown is Coastal HomeSchool. Will they be able to keep them contained?
Everything came up roses for South Wake against Coastal HomeSchool in their previous matchup back in March of 2021, as the squad secured a 71-37 victory. Does South Wake have another victory up their sleeve, or will Coastal HomeSchool turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
