Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Hamburg). Everything went their way against the Fredonia Hillbillies on Monday as they made off with a 13-2 win. The victory continues a trend for the Bulldogs in their matchups with the Hillbillies: they've now won three in a row.

Dylan Monczynski looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched.

On the hitting side, Hamburg got a massive performance out of Jimmy Steffen, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Zack Williams, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-2.

Hamburg was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .516. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive matchups.

The win got Hamburg back to even at 2-2-1.

Hamburg will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Amherst Central at 5:00 p.m. on the 23rd. As for Fredonia, they will venture away from home to challenge Dunkirk at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
