The Mercedes Tigers will challenge the Rivera Raiders at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Mercedes' pitching crew has only allowed 3.1 runs per game this season, so Rivera's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
While Mercedes' victory against Edcouch-Elsa wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. Mercedes skirted past Edcouch-Elsa 6-5. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Tigers.

Abigail Trevi?o spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered five earned runs on ten hits and racked up seven Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Ashley De Leon, who went 2-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. That home run marked the first that she launched this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Rhianna Sierra, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one triple and one run.
Meanwhile, Rivera got themselves on the board against Donna North on Friday, but Donna North never followed suit. They blew past the Chiefs 12-0. The win continues a trend for the Raiders in their matchups with the Chiefs: they've now won five in a row.
Kiley Trevino was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits (and not a single walk). Trevino was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing Three bases. while going 3-for-3. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in stolen bases.
In other batting news, Jocelyn Vela was a standout: she scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-2. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in doubles (two). Hazel Gonzalez was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-2.
Rivera was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .571. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Rivera's victory bumped their record up to 4-8. As for Mercedes, their win bumped their record up to 7-5.
Mercedes took their victory against Rivera in their previous matchup back in February of 2019 by a conclusive 10-0. Does Mercedes have another victory up their sleeve, or will Rivera turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
