Preview: Valley Center vs. Ramona
Valley Center will be playing at home against Ramona at at 7:00 PM on Friday. Both teams have set a high bar for this matchup after stand-out offensive performances in their previous contests.
Last Friday, Valley Center put the finishing touches on their 6th blowout victory of the season. They were fully in charge, breezing past Escondido 42-0. Senior Mateo Sinohui, who rushed for 117 yards and 3 touchdowns, was a major factor in Valley Center's success. This marked the 9th match in which Sinohui has rushed for over 100 yards.
Meanwhile, Ramona might be getting used to good results now that the squad has three wins in a row. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Rancho Buena Vista, sneaking past 44-41. The margin of victory was a little narrower than expected seeing as Ramona are ranked 290 places ahead of Rancho Buena Vista in the state rankings.
Their wins bumped Ramona to 6-2 and Valley Center to 6-3. We'll see which team can carry over their success and which team inevitably falls when Ramona and Valley Center clash.
