Softball Recap: Fairfax Comes Up Short

Fairfax was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss dating back to last season. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 13-12 heartbreaker at the hands of the Narbonne Gauchos.

Fairfax got a massive performance out of Giselle Ayala, who scored two runs and stole Four bases. while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Allison Vasquez, who went 2-for-4 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one run.

Even though they lost, Fairfax was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .394. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .375 or higher every time they've taken the field this season.

Fairfax's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Narbonne, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 6-0.

Looking ahead, Fairfax will take on Eagle Rock in a tournament on Saturday. As for Narbonne, they will welcome Dymally at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Narbonne is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 10.8 runs per game this season.
