Baseball Recap: Remington Beats Marion for Their Third Straight Win

Remington extended their winning streak to three on Tuesday, bumping their season record up to 8-8-1 in the process. They came out on top against the Marion Warriors by a score of 6-2. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 20-19 on Tuesday.

Kole Klaassen made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Remington is undefeated when he allows at most two earned runs, but 5-8-1 otherwise. Klaassen was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with three stolen bases and one run. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in March.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kendell Reimer, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two RBI, one run, and one double. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March.

As for Marion, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-13 record this season. Those defeats can't be blamed on the team's hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.1 runs over those games.

On Marion's side, they saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Luke Watkins, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one double.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Remington will welcome Inman on Friday. As for Marion, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Herington at 6:00 p.m. The Railroaders have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 19.64 runs per game on average), something the Warriors will no doubt try to take advantage of.
