Baseball Recap: Red Oak Takes a Loss

Red Oak extended their losing streak to five on Monday, dropping their season record down to 8-11 in the process. They came up short against the Lewis Central Titans, falling 10-3. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Titans this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 13-2 on Monday.

As for Lewis Central, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 12 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-7 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.9 runs over those games.

For Lewis Central's part, they gave Ayden Buckles the start and clearly made the right call: he didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. Buckles has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

Red Oak has already played their next game (against Glenwood), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Lewis Central, they have also already played their next contest, a 7-0 victory against Kuemper on the 27th.
