Cheshire proved they can win big on Monday (they won by seven) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They skirted past the Sheehan Titans 2-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Rams have posted since May 19, 2025.

Gavin Hale looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one walk any time he's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, Cheshire saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Michael Chopak, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. Chopak is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games he's played.

Cheshire is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Sheehan, their loss dropped their record down to 5-4-1.

Looking ahead, Cheshire is taking a road trip to take on Naugatuck at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Rams 2.8, the Greyhounds 3.5) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Sheehan, they will host Lyman Hall at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Trojans' pitching crew has only allowed 2.2 runs per game this season, so the Titans' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
