Softball Recap: Loudonville's Victory on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Loudonville had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They put the hurt on the East Knox Bulldogs with a sharp 17-9 victory. The Redbirds' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Addison Wolford and Jocelyn Kegley did most of the damage at the plate: Wolford scored four runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4, while Kegley scored four runs and stole a base while going 5-for-5. Wolford is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Elly Hensel, who went 2-for-4 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one run.

They weren't the only one making solid contact: Loudonville kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They are 2-1 when they post 11 or more hits.

The win got Loudonville back to even at 3-3. As for East Knox, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Looking ahead, Loudonville will face off against Highland at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Redbirds' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Fighting Scots have averaged an impressive 10.3 runs per game this season. As for East Knox, they will head out to square off against Northmor at 5:15 p.m. on Monday.
