Preview: Pavilion Golden Gophers vs. Kendall Eagles
Pavilion is 6-1 against Kendall since January of 2017, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Wednesday. The Pavilion Golden Gophers on the road again and play against the Kendall Eagles at 12:00 p.m. on January 24th. Pavilion will be strutting in after a win while Kendall will be coming in after a loss.
Even though Pavilion has not done well against Caledonia-Mumford recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Pavilion walked away with a 66-54 win over Caledonia-Mumford. The win was just what Pavilion needed coming off of a 81-38 loss in their prior match.
Meanwhile, Kendall lost to Wheatland-Chili at home by a decisive 58-41 margin on Wednesday. Kendall has not had much luck with Wheatland-Chili recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
Pavilion's win ended a seven-game drought on the road and puts them at 3-8. As for Kendall, they now have a losing record at 2-3.
Pavilion skirted past Kendall 67-65 in their previous matchup back in December of 2023. The rematch might be a little tougher for Pavilion since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
