Football Game Preview: Walnut Wildcats vs. Myrtle Hawks + How To Watch

The Walnut Wildcats are taking a road trip to face off against the Myrtle Hawks at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Friday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Walnut beat Alcorn Central 20-14. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Wildcats.

Meanwhile, it was close, but on Friday Myrtle sidestepped Vardaman for an 18-15 win.

Walnut better keep an eye on Colton Gordon. He was instrumental in Myrtle's win, rushing for 66 yards and one TD on only eight carries.

The victory got Walnut back to even at 2-2. As for Myrtle, their record is now 3-1.

Everything went Walnut's way against Myrtle in their previous matchup back in September of 2024, as Walnut made off with a 30-8 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wildcats since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
