Espanola Valley entered their tilt with Bernalillo on Wednesday with five consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with six. They came out on top against the Bernalillo Spartans by a score of 63-52. Given the Sundevils' advantage in MaxPreps' New Mexico basketball rankings (they are ranked 15th, while the Spartans are ranked 67th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Espanola Valley pushed their record up to 6-1 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.6 points per game. As for Bernalillo, they now have a losing record at 5-6.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Espanola Valley will head out to take on Valencia at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Bernalillo, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Capital at 1:00 p.m. on December 31st.
