Basketball Recap: Compass Academy Comes Up Short

Compass Academy won a close one the last time they played, but unfortunately they suffered a serious change of fortune on Friday. They were outmatched by the Brownfield Cubs and fell 79-45. That makes it the first time this season Compass Academy has let down their home crowd.

Compass Academy's defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-4. As for Brownfield, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 11-7 record this season.

Compass Academy will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Kermit at 6:30 p.m. on January 7, 2025. Compass Academy is facing Kermit at the right time seeing as Kermit is stuck on a three-game losing streak. Brownfield and Bushland will round out the year against one another at at 10:30 a.m. on Friday.
