Recap: Friendship Christian Commanders vs. Middle Tennessee Christian Cougars
It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the Friendship Christian Commanders can now relate to. They lost to the Cougars on the road by a decisive 28-13 margin on Thursday. Friendship Christian's loss signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.
Despite the loss, Friendship Christian still got an impressive performance from Tyson Wolcott, who rushed for 225 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 7.5 yards per carry. Wolcott is absolutely dominating the rushing yard category: he's posted at least 100 every time he's taken the field this season.
Eli Wilson was his usual excellent self, rushing for 191 yards and a touchdown while picking up 11.2 yards per carry for Middle Tennessee Christian. Wilson was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 61 yards. Another player making a difference was Yates Geren, who rushed for 46 yards and a touchdown.
Friendship Christian's loss dropped their record down to 11-3. As for Middle Tennessee Christian, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 12-1.
