Basketball Recap: Boone Grove's Victory on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Boone Grove entered their tilt with Hebron on Friday with two consecutive wins , and they'll enter their next game with three. They came within four points of losing the streak, but they secured a 64-60 W against the Hebron Hawks. This was payback for the Wolves, who suffered an 80-38 loss the last time these two teams met.

Boone Grove's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jack Stevens, who posted 16 points in addition to seven boards and three steals. The matchup was Stevens' fifth in a row with at least 16 points. Carson Kinsey also deserves some recognition as he posted his first block of the season.

Several Hawks players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Spencer Spinks, who dropped a double-double with 12 points and 12 rebounds. Thanks to that strong game, Spinks now owns an excellent 47.3% field goal percentage. Another player making a difference was Peter Socci, who went 7-for-11 on his way to 16 points and six boards.

Boone Grove's record is now 9-10. As for Hebron, their defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 12-8.

Looking ahead, Boone Grove will host DeMotte Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Boone Grove knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past three contests -- so hopefully DeMotte Christian likes a good challenge. As for Hebron, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 59-57 victory against North Judson-San Pierre on the 22nd.
