Soccer Game Preview: Livermore vs. Arroyo

The Livermore Cowboys will be taking part in a tournament against the Arroyo Dons at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Livermore is headed in fresh off scoring the most goals they have all season. Their defense stepped up to hand Kennedy a 6-0 shutout on Thursday. The score was close at the half, but the Cowboys pulled away in the second half with five goals.

Jorge Ramirez, who's played more minutes than anyone else on the Livermore squad sat out for Thursday's game. With Ramirez sitting this one out, Nolan Grey got some extra time on the pitch (90 vs. his season average of 50.2).

Meanwhile, Arroyo earned a 3-1 victory over Foothill on Thursday.

Livermore is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a massive bump to their 3-4-1 record this season. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those four matches. As for Arroyo, they now have a winning record of 3-2-1.

Livermore came out on top in a nail-biter against Arroyo in their previous matchup back in December of 2018, sneaking past 1-0. Does Livermore have another victory up their sleeve, or will Arroyo turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
