Volleyball Recap: Emma Ramirez's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Gorton over Barack Obama School for Social Justice

Gorton suffered their biggest defeat since September 10th on Friday. They came up short against the Barack Obama School for Social Justice Lightning, falling 3-0. The Wolves were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Lightning earlier this season, when they won 3-0.

While Gorton was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Barack Obama School for Social Justice's winning margin in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 25-23, 25-24.

Gorton's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Emma Ramirez, who had 13 digs and one assist. Ny'Asia Carcamo was another key player, getting six digs and two aces.

Gorton's defeat dropped their record down to 8-4. As for Barack Obama School for Social Justice, they have been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season.
