Cerritos is a perfect 4-0 against Paramount since May of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Cerritos Dons will host the Paramount Pirates at 3:00 p.m.

Cerritos came into their game on Saturday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against Lakewood, falling 8-2.

Cerritos saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Braxton Reed, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3. Ryan Salas also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Meanwhile, Paramount had to endure a four-game losing streak dating back to last season, but that streak is no more. They put the hurt on Buena Park with a sharp 8-2 win on Thursday. The Pirates' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Raymundo Banuelos looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits.

At the plate, Jacob Lara and Brandon Martinez did most of the damage at the plate: Lara scored a run while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances, while Martinez scored two runs while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.

Cerritos dropped their record down to 2-4 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road. As for Paramount, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-3.

Cerritos took their win against Paramount in their previous matchup back in March of 2024 by a conclusive 9-0. Will Cerritos repeat their success, or does Paramount have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
