Cam Klco spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and one unearned) runs on four hits and racked up nine Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Drew Galey, who scored three runs and stole three bases while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 1.2 stolen bases per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Aubrie Uebele, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.
Greenville kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in four consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Carson City-Crystal made easy work of Montabella on Monday and carried off a 12-1 win. The victory continues a trend for the Eagles in their matchups with the Mustangs: they've now won six in a row.
Haven Reeder made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over six innings while giving up just one earned run off eight hits (and not a single walk). Reeder was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 3-for-4.
In other batting news, Calli Heleski and Addison Bolen did most of the damage at the plate: Heleski scored three runs and stole four bases while going 4-for-4, while Bolen went 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Haedee Clark, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4.
Greenville pushed their record up to 5-1 with the win, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 17.0 runs over those games. As for Carson City-Crystal, their win bumped their record up to 2-0.
