Recap: KIPP DuBois Collegiate Academy vs. Parkway Northwest Hoyas
KIPP DuBois Collegiate Academy were the 77-46 winner over the Parkway Northwest Hoyas when they last played one another back in January of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The matchup between the pair wasn't particularly close, with KIPP DuBois Collegiate Academy falling 67-48. While losing is never fun, they can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 690th, while Parkway Northwest is ranked 297th).
KIPP DuBois Collegiate Academy's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Haile Johnson, who scored 12 points along with six steals, and Mekhi Anderson who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 11 rebounds. Anderson hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for seven straight games. Another player making a difference was Sayid Cooley, who scored 11 points.
Parkway Northwest's win on Monday was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jaicir Isaac, who scored 16 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Isaac has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Devin Caufield, who scored 14 points.
This is the second loss in a row for KIPP DuBois Collegiate Academy and nudges their season record down to 2-7. As for Parkway Northwest, they pushed their record up to 7-2 with that win, which was their sixth straight at home.
KIPP DuBois Collegiate Academy will take on Parkway West at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Parkway West is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak. As for Parkway Northwest, they will head out on the road to face off against Arts Academy at Benjamin Rush at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Arts Academy at Benjamin Rush comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
