If Central was riding high fresh off their 82-56 takedown of Westwood on Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Central Cobras took a 72-68 hit to the loss column at the hands of the South Plantation Paladins. The Cobras' loss signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.

Several Cobras players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Joseph Gayle, who went 6 for 14 en route to 24 points along with seven rebounds and four steals. That was a full 35.3% of Central's points, marking the third time in a row he's posted more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Christopher Maxon, who put up 13 points.

South Plantation's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Travis Chin led the charge by dropping a double-double on 24 points and 11 assists. The dominant performance gave Chin a new career-high in points. Lathan Coleman was another key player, dropping a double-double on 22 points and ten boards.

Central's defeat dropped their record down to 14-8. As for South Plantation, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 19-6.

Central wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 115-78 victory against Cornerstone Charter Academy on the 27th. South Plantation does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
