Fans got a thrill when ANTHONY PHILLIPS and TREVOR STEPHENS connected against Kentucky Country Day. The connection went for 77 yards, the longest such play in 1A District 2 this season.
The Bearcats led the league in scoring this week after putting up 54 points on Caverna.
Caverna's offense cannot be tamed this season and the Colonels feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. PHILLIPS has thrown for 1,746 yards and 12 touchdowns this season, while STEPHENS has 50 catches for 916 yards. PHILLIPS also leads the league in rushing with 113 yards.
The Colonels' STEPHENS is only 84 receiving yards away from breaking 1,000 receiving yards this season as he enters this week's game against the Metcalfe County. So far this year, he has garnered 50 catches for 916 yards.
Bethlehem made the biggest leap in the national rankings this week, rising to 8,538 from 9,402. The improvement was the result of a 35-28 victory over Holy Cross last week.
