Basketball Recap: Taylor's Run of Five Straight Victories Now Over

After a string of five wins, Taylor's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They came up short against the Lampasas Badgers, falling 73-52. If the Ducks were looking for revenge after losing 82-59 to them when the teams met, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Taylor lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being TJ Whybrew, who went 7 for 16 on his way to 22 points and six rebounds. Whybrew's evening made it seven games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Eli Laurence, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 13 boards.

Taylor's defeat dropped their record down to 10-7. As for Lampasas, their win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-7.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Taylor will welcome Gateway College Preparatory at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Taylor is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 54.2 points per game this season. As for Lampasas, they will look to defend their home court on January 10th against Jarrell at 7:30 p.m. Lampasas is facing Jarrell at the right time seeing as Jarrell is stuck on a five-game losing streak.
