Volleyball Recap: Truman Patriots vs. Raymore-Peculiar Panthers
After a string of nine wins, Truman's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Raymore-Peculiar Panthers. The Patriots were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Panthers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played last Saturday.
Truman started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The match finished with set scores of 21-25, 25-21, 25-20, 25-20.
Jayden Herl paced Truman's offense, picking up 12 kills. Herl got some help from
Madison E Harris and her 22 assists.
Andi Gardner controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.
Truman's defeat dropped their record down to 31-5-1. As for Raymore-Peculiar, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 23-15.
Truman does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Raymore-Peculiar, they will head out on the road to square off against Lee's Summit West at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Lee's Summit West is coming into the contest with nine straight wins at home, so Raymore-Peculiar will have to stop a team with plenty of momentum.
