Recap: Towanda Black Knights vs. Wyalusing Valley Rams
After flying high against the Tunkhannock Tigers last Thursday, The Towanda Black Knights came back down to earth. Towanda was just a hair shy of victory on Friday and fell 15-14 to Wyalusing Valley. Towanda was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Wyalusing Valley apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2022.
When it comes to explaining why Towanda lost, one person who can't be blamed is Rylie Vanderpool. Despite the final result, he rushed for 133 yards and two touchdowns.
Towanda's loss dropped their record down to 6-4. As for Wyalusing Valley, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 6-4 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Towanda will challenge Line Mountain at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Line Mountain will be looking to keep their three-game home win streak alive. As for Wyalusing Valley, they will head out on the road to face off against Mount Carmel at 2:00 p.m. on November 4th. Mount Carmel presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Wyalusing Valley in Pennsylvania (Mount Carmel is ranked 121st, while Wyalusing Valley is ranked 368th).
