Basketball Recap: Mt. Zion Braves vs. Cahokia Comanches

Mt. Zion unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They took a 59-42 bruising from the Cahokia Comanches on Monday. The Braves were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Comanches apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in November of 2024.

Cahokia's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Corrion Raiford led the charge by dropping a double-double with 13 points and 11 rebounds. Those 11 boards gave Raiford a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Taven Miller, who went 7-for-11 to rack up 17 points.
