Volleyball Recap: Mater Dei Catholic Comes Up Short

Mater Dei Catholic saw some tournament action on Saturday. They fell 2-0 to the Patrick Henry Patriots. While getting shut out isn't ideal, the Crusaders haven't been shut out since back in March.

Sylas Doan had a dynamite game For Patrick Henry., getting six digs and one block. Doan has been hot for a while, having also posted 14 or more assists the last 36 times he's played.

This is the second loss in a row for Mater Dei Catholic and nudges their season record down to 22-10. As for Patrick Henry, they are on a roll lately: they've won 14 of their last 15 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-6 record this season.

Mater Dei Catholic will square off against Hilltop at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Patrick Henry, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-0 defeat against Westview on the 26th.
