Baseball Recap: Blackstone-Millville Gets the Win

After low-scoring totals in their previous six game, Blackstone-Millville brought some dynamite into their most recent contest. They were the clear victors by a 13-7 margin over the Boston Collegiate Hurricanes on Saturday. Considering the Chargers' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Cody Fletcher was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched three innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with three RBI and two runs. That's the most runs he has posted since back in May of 2024.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Lao Pe?a-Montero, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three RBI and one run. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Will Larkin, who got on base in two of his four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Blackstone-Millville kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Blackstone-Millville's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-11. As for Boston Collegiate, their loss ended a six-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 1-3.
