Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Bishop McCort). They walked away with an 11-8 victory over the Westmont Hilltop Hilltoppers on Saturday. With that win, the Crushers brought their scoring average up to 7.2 runs per game.

Lariah Myers made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out seven batters over seven innings while giving up three earned (and five unearned) runs off 11 hits (and not a single walk). She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in three of her five plate appearances.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kylie Durst, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4. Another player making a difference was Riley Zeglin, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4.

The victory got Bishop McCort back to even at 2-2. As for Westmont Hilltop, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 4-1.

Coming up, Bishop McCort will challenge Central Cambria at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Crushers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Red Devils have averaged an impressive 12.8 runs per game this season. As for Westmont Hilltop, they will head out to square off against Penn Cambria at 4:15 p.m. on Monday.
