Volleyball Recap: Davis Sr. Comes Up Short

Davis Sr. was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 3-0 to the Elk Grove Thundering Herd. The Blue Devils were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Thundering Herd apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

While Davis Sr. was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the third set. The final score came out to 25-19, 25-17, 25-22.

When it comes to explaining why Davis Sr. lost, don't look at Mohammad Reggad. Despite the final result, he had 15 assists and three digs. Reggad has been hot, having posted 15 or more assists the last eight times he's played. Kai Bissell also deserves some recognition as he had his first kill of the season.

Davis Sr.'s loss dropped their record down to 6-10. As for Elk Grove, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-7 record this season.

Davis Sr. and Elk Grove could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps California Rankings. Davis Sr. (ranked 301st) will meet Granite Bay (ranked 130th) at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Elk Grove will take on Monterey Trail at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday down 156 places (214 vs. 58).
