Basketball Game Preview: Vallejo Redhawks vs. El Cerrito Gauchos

The Vallejo Redhawks will square off against the El Cerrito Gauchos at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Vallejo has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last five games.

Last Tuesday, Vallejo made easy work of Hercules and carried off a 58-32 win.

Veekie Head had an outrageously good game as she dropped a double-double on 22 points and 11 rebounds. Chanel Echavez was another key player, putting up six points and five assists.

Meanwhile, El Cerrito came up short against Swett on Tuesday and fell 44-36. The Gauchos have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Vallejo pushed their record up to 6-10 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 33.7 points. As for El Cerrito, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-4.

Vallejo won a matchup that couldn't have been any closer when the teams last played back in December of 2024, slipping by El Cerrito 1-0. Will Vallejo repeat their success, or does El Cerrito have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
