Football Recap: Providence Christian Academy Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Providence Christian Academy had lost five straight at home dating back to last season, but on Friday they dropped down to 1-6 to make it six. They took a blow against the Athens Academy Spartans, falling 69-13. While losing is never fun, the Storm can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia football rankings (they are ranked 403rd, while the Spartans are ranked 127th).

Despite the defeat, Providence Christian Academy saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Tj Caster rushed for 80 yards and one touchdown.

As for Athens Academy, the win was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record up to 7-1. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 44.3 points over those games.

A big part of Athens Academy's win came down to the chemistry between Chap Chapman and his top target Keyon Standifer. Chapman threw for 323 yards and four TDs while picking up 15.4 yards per attempt while Standifer gained 223 total yards and six touchdowns. What's more, Standifer racked up 210 receiving yards, the most he's had since back in August of 2024.
