5-star running back TreVeyon Henderson commits to Ohio State

Country's top-rated running back adds to already loaded Buckeye class.

Hopewell's ( Va.) 5-star running back TreVeyon Henderson is headed to Ohio State.

The Buckeyes already had the No. 1 class for 2021 and adding the top rated running back in the country gives them their 10th player rated in the Top 100 according to 247Sports composite rankings.

Henderson had a monster junior campaign, accounting for over 3,000 all purpose yards and 53 touchdowns. He was named the Virginia Gatorade Football Player of the Year and we just released our top player in each state article and the 5-star playmaker represents the Old Dominion state.

He helped lead the Blue Devils to a 15-0 record in 2019 and led them to a 35-7 win over Lord Botetourt (Daleville) in the Class 3 state championship with a 224-yard rushing performance and four scores.



Henderson is the third 5-star to commit with Ohio State for the Class of 2021 according to 247's composite rankings, joining Pickerington North's (Ohio) Jack Sawyer and St. Joseph's Prep's (Philadelphia) Kyle McCord.

Some other notable 2021 commits for Ryan Day include Episcopal's (Bellaire, Texas) Donovan Jackson, McCord's high school teammate, Marvin Harrison Jr., the son of NFL Hall of Fame wide receiver Marvin Harrison, De Smet Jesuit's (St. Louis) Jakailin Johnson, Washington's (Massillon, Ohio) Jayden Ballard and Hough's (Cornelius, N.C.) Evan Pryor.
