Baseball Recap: Newark Comes Up Short

Newark was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Bloom-Carroll Bulldogs. That's two games in a row now that the Wildcats have lost by just one run.

Newark's loss dropped their record down to 9-9. As for Bloom-Carroll, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-3 record this season.

Newark will look to defend their home field on Saturday against Buckeye Valley at 10:30 a.m. As for Bloom-Carroll, they will challenge Lancaster at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
