Cedar Hill climbs to No. 3 after double-OT victory over DeSoto; Plano West, Atascocita retain grip on top two spots.

Cedar Hill leaped three spots to No. 3 in the MaxPreps Texas Top 25 with Friday's impressive 59-58 double-overtime victory at DeSoto.

The win was significant for the Longhorns because it snapped DeSoto's eight-game winning streak in district head-to-head meetings between the neighboring rivals. Cedar Hill's last district victory over DeSoto came in the 2005-06 season.

The Longhorns of first-year head coach Brandon Thomas are 4-0 in District 8-6A, including a road win at Duncanville.

Kealon Clayborne, a 6-2 senior guard, scored 19 points and sophomore point guard Russhard Cruickshank had 11 in the win over No. 4 DeSoto.
