Softball Recap: Evergreen Valley's Win Ends 14-Game Losing Streak on the Road

Evergreen Valley made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Mt. Pleasant, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Cougars' pitcher stepped up to hand the Cardinals a 12-0 shutout on Friday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Cougars considering their one-run performance the matchup before.

Aliyah Villalba was incredible, going 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs.

Evergreen Valley's victory ended a 14-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 4-7. As for Mt. Pleasant, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-7 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Evergreen Valley will square off against rival Independence at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (the Cougars have won three straight at home, while the 76ers won three straight on the road), something that'll have to change. Meanwhile, Mt. Pleasant is set to challenge their familiar foe Gunderson at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
