North Rockland had won nine straight at home dating back to last season, but on Monday they bumped their record up to 3-1 to make it ten. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 9-7 victory over the Eastchester Eagles. The Raiders haven't had any issues with the Eagles recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive win against them.
As for Eastchester, they now have a losing record of 3-4. The loss was just more heartbreak for they who fell 6-4 when the teams previously met back in May of 2021.
For Eastchester's part, Gianna Peduto made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and one run. Those stolen bases were Peduto's first of the season. Another player making a difference was Alyssa Peduto, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with three runs and one stolen base.
North Rockland has already played their next match, a 4-1 victory against Arlington on the 22nd. As for Eastchester, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Harrison at 4:30 p.m. on May 1.
