Basketball Recap: Central City Comes Up Short

Central City lost against Maquoketa Valley back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Central City Wildcats took a 52-40 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Maquoketa Valley Wildcats. Central City just can't catch a break and has now endured four defeats in a row.

Central City's loss dropped their record down to 5-14. As for Maquoketa Valley, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-6 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Central City Wildcats challenge the Lisbon Lions at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Maquoketa Valley, they will host Midland at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Maquoketa Valley is facing Midland at the right time seeing as Midland is stuck on a 16-game losing streak.
