Baseball Game Preview: Vandercook Lake Jayhawks vs. Addison Panthers

Vandercook Lake is 1-9 against Addison since May of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Jayhawks will head out on the road to face off against the Panthers at 4:00 p.m. Vandercook Lake has given up an average of 9.8 runs per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Grass Lake hit Vandercook Lake with a nine-run fourth inning on Monday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Jayhawks lost 15-4 to the Warriors.

Vandercook Lake saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Justin Barnes, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one run. Jaydin Stephens also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Addison might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 8-3 to Napoleon, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior.

Jacob Wright was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.

Vandercook Lake's record is now 5-11. As for Addison, their record now sits at 4-14.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Friday as neither team is afraid to steal. Vandercook Lake has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 2.9 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Addison struggles in that department as they've been averaging 2.7 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.

Vandercook Lake beat Addison 5-2 in their previous matchup on Saturday. Will the Jayhawks repeat their success, or do the Panthers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
