Baseball Recap: Claysburg-Kimmel Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Claysburg-Kimmel, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Northern Bedford County Panthers 5-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Bulldogs have posted since April 17th.

Dustin Slowik spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three earned (and one unearned) runs on seven hits.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Landon Douglas, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two doubles, two RBI, and one run. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Gavin Treon, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Claysburg-Kimmel's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 9-9. As for Northern Bedford County, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-7.
