Basketball Game Preview: Warwick Warriors vs. Larimore Polar Bears

The Warwick Warriors will be taking part in a tournament against the Larimore Polar Bears at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Saturday, Warwick humbled Cavalier with an 89-53 victory.

Meanwhile, Larimore came into Saturday's matchup having lost five straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They came out on top against Sargent County by a score of 52-41 on Saturday.

Larimore found their leader in sophomore Baron Burns, who almost dropped a double-double on 18 points and nine steals. Those nine steals gave Burns a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Mason Myers, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 14 boards.

Larimore smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in three consecutive games.

The victory got Warwick back to even at 1-1. As for Larimore, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

Warwick came up short against Larimore when the teams last played back in February, falling 63-56. Can Warwick avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
