Kaiser is 7-2 against Rialto since March of 2022 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Cats will be playing at home against the Knights at 3:45 p.m. Kaiser's pitching crew has only allowed 3.4 runs per game this season, so Rialto's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
The home team had come away the winner the last five times Kaiser and Summit had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Cats took a 6-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the SkyHawks on Friday. The loss continues a trend for the Cats in their meetings with the SkyHawks: they've now lost four in a row.
Kaiser got a good showing from Gabriel Martinez, who kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits over four innings pitched. The dominant performance also gave Martinez a new career-low in hits (zero).
On the hitting side, Kaiser saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Danny Andrew Ramirez, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one RBI.
Meanwhile, Rialto came tearing into Friday's game with four straight wins , and they left with even more momentum. They never let the Yellowjackets get on the board and left with a 4-0 win.
Alex Valadez made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run while striking out eight over 6.1 innings pitched. Those eight strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Hugo Sanchez, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one RBI.
Rialto pushed their record up to 11-3 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.8 runs over those games. As for Kaiser, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-8.
Kaiser couldn't quite finish off Rialto when the teams last played back in April of 2024 and fell 7-5. Will the Cats have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the match for a full breakdown of the game, commentary, and other baseball content.
