Basketball Game Preview: Northridge Knights vs. Montini Catholic Broncos

Having just played yesterday, the Northridge Knights will head out on the road to face off against the Montini Catholic Broncos at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. One thing working in Northridge's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last nine matches.

On Friday, Northridge didn't have too much trouble with Francis W. Parker as they won 61-45. Given the Knights' advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 113th, while the Colonels are ranked 341st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

IC Catholic Prep typically has all the answers at home, but on Friday Montini Catholic proved too difficult a challenge. They took down the Knights 64-48.

Northridge is on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 14 games, which provided a nice bump to their 21-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.8 points over those games. As for Montini Catholic, they pushed their record up to 14-11 with the win, which was their third straight on the road.

Northridge couldn't quite finish off Montini Catholic in their previous matchup back in February of 2024 and fell 46-43. Can Northridge avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
