Volleyball Recap: Zion-Benton Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Zion-Benton can now relate to. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Mundelein Mustangs on Monday. The Zee-Bees have struggled against the Mustangs recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost meeting.

Mundelein can attribute much of their success to Rance Cruz, who had 18 digs. That's the most digs Cruz has posted over his last six matchups.

Zion-Benton's defeat dropped their record down to 9-27. As for Mundelein, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 28-4.

Zion-Benton does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Mundelein, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-0 victory against Highland Park on the 27th.
