Softball Game Preview: Constantine Falcons vs. Dowagiac Chieftains

Constantine is 0-4 against Dowagiac since May of 2024 but things could change on Friday. The Falcons are taking a road trip to take on the Chieftains at 4:00 p.m. Constantine will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.

Constantine is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They walked away with a 20-16 victory over Sturgis on Wednesday. Surprisingly, this marked the sixth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor in this series.

The team relied heavily on Abigail Robinson, who went 3-for-6 with five runs, two stolen bases, and four RBI. She continues to improve, besting her previous run total in each of the last three games she's played. Anndee Evans was another key player, going 3-for-6 with four runs, two doubles, and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Dowagiac lost 10-1 to Edwardsburg on Tuesday.

Dowagiac saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Charleigh Reed, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Dowagiac's loss dropped their record down to 22-11. As for Constantine, their win bumped their record up to 8-14.

Constantine might still be hurting after the 18-7 defeat they got from Dowagiac when the teams last played back in May of 2025. Can the Falcons avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
