Basketball Recap: Phoebus Comes Up Short

Phoebus was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat. They were dealt a 73-29 loss at the hands of the Warwick Raiders. While losing is never fun, the Phantoms can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 337th, while the Raiders are ranked 102nd).

Warwick's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Amariona Collins-Epps, who posted 27 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kelsie Swords, who had 18 points.

Phoebus' record now sits at 2-20. As for Warwick, their win bumped their record up to 17-6.

Phoebus has already played their next contest (against Warhill), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Warwick, they will head out on the road to challenge Maury at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Maury is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 50.2 points per game this season.
