Softball Recap: Kankakee Valley Find Success

Kankakee Valley had lost three games straight , but after bumping their record up to 9-9 on Saturday that streak is in the rearview. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Tipton Blue Devils, sneaking past 2-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Kougars have posted since April 22nd.

Tipton's batters probably weren't too happy with Jessica Beauchamp, who pitched a no hitter and racked up ten Ks (she gave up three walks).

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Madalynn Hemphill, who went 3-for-4 with one home run.

As for Tipton, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last eight matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-13 record this season. They just can't catch a break and have now endured five defeats in a row.

On Tipton's side, Ella Lobeck spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on four hits.

Kankakee Valley wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 4-3 win against Delphi Community on the 10th. As for Tipton, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 10-0 victory against Frankfort on the 10th.
