Baseball Recap: Maiden Blue Devils vs. St. Stephens Indians
Maiden was the 7-3 winner over St. Stephens when they last played one another back in April of 2018, but their luck changed this time around. The Maiden Blue Devils came up short against the St. Stephens Indians on Thursday, falling 14-2.
Maiden saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ethan Whittaker, who scored a run and stole Two bases. while going 1-for-2.
Maiden now has a losing record of 5-6. As for St. Stephens, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-2.
Coming up, Maiden will look to defend their home field on Friday against Lincolnton at 7:00 p.m. Maiden has given up an average of 7.2 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week. As for St. Stephens, they will venture away from home to challenge Hickory at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
