Palm Springs can bid farewell to their eight-game losing streak thanks to their game on Monday. They were the clear victors by a 24-2 margin over the St. Pius X-St. Matthias Academy Warriors. That 22 run margin sets a new team best for the Indians this season.

Gio Wood looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out six over four innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Drake Conrad Perez and Ian Ernesto Arroyo did most of the damage at the plate: Conrad Perez went 4-for-6 with five RBI, one triple, and one run, while Arroyo got on base in four of his six plate appearances with three runs, four RBI, and one double. That's the most runs Arroyo has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Chase Clemons, who scored three runs while getting on base in three of his six plate appearances.

Palm Springs always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .554. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as St. Pius X-St. Matthias Academy only posted an OBP of .267.

Palm Springs' record is now 7-16. As for St. Pius X-St. Matthias Academy, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-12 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Palm Springs will head out to face off against Rancho Mirage at 6:30 p.m. on the 22nd. The Rattlers' pitching crew has only allowed four runs per game this season, so the Indians' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for St. Pius X-St. Matthias Academy, they will venture away from home to challenge Cabrillo at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
