Football Game Preview: Cocoa Beach Minutemen vs. Viera Hawks + How To Watch

The Cocoa Beach Minutemen will face off against the Viera Hawks at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Cocoa Beach has given up an average of 35.3 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Cocoa Beach came into their game on Friday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They were dealt a 48-21 defeat at the hands of Space Coast. The Minutemen have struggled against the Vipers recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Cocoa Beach's loss came about despite a quality game from Remy Vigne, who threw for 268 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 11.7 yards per attempt, and also punched in one TD on the ground.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Viera). They blew past Tohopekaliga 44-22 last Friday. The Hawks haven't had any issues with the Tigers recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Viera's win came from a few key players Cocoa Beach will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Shaun Hartman Jr, who picked up 116 receiving yards and a pair of scores. Eric Nelson was another key player, rushing for 79 yards on only seven carries.

Viera was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 306 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in October of 2024.

Viera didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off four passes before the game was over. William McClure led the group effort, picking up two of those interceptions all by himself. Daniel Jolly also set a new season-high mark in total tackles with 12. Dimitri Jean got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Viera now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Cocoa Beach, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-4.
